Adapting to Change
In order to stay competitive and prosperous, today's organizations are often forced to make difficult decisions about the ways in which they need to change. Faced with merging, outsourcing, downsizing, upsizing, or rightsizing-most people feel like they're capsizing! To stay afloat and be successful in the ever-changing workplace, employees must be able to adapt to change. Participants will explore their resistance to change, determine where they're likely to get stuck in the change process, and learn ways to transform the fear of change into anticipation and enthusiasm.

Building Trust
WHAT IS BUILDING TRUST? A lack of trust increases the cost of running your business. When trust is absent: individuals break promises, slowing projects: teams fail to pull together: and improvement initiatives are undermined. The quality of communication in your organization rises and falls with the level of trust that exists between your people. This essential link in the chain - trust - is a responsibility of each and every employee. The link of trust is strengthened when people deliver on promises, respect and value one another, and share a commitment to common goals.

Communication at Work
Effective communication strategies are critical for success-reducing confusion, frustration, and erroneous assumptions. Good communication can also build trust and strengthen work relationships. Highlighting various aspects of verbal and non-verbal communication, participants will learn practical skills for increasing their communication clarity and for building mutual understanding with co-workers. We will examine attentive listening, giving and receiving feedback, advocating and inquiry, as well as the skills necessary to conduct effective meetings. Participants will also explore the factors leading to communication breakdown and discover ways to keep workplace communications respectful, open, and productive.
Conflict Resolution at Work
Conflict is a major stressor and a largely unrecognized cost to organizations today. It is estimated that unmanaged employee conflict is responsible for approximately 65% of work performance problems, and nearly 42% of employees' time is spent engaged in conflict or attempting to resolve it. The good news is that most conflicts can be resolved-without yelling, sulking, shutting down, sabotaging, or other inappropriate behaviours. Conflict can be resolved in a sensitive, equitable, and efficient manner, and in ways that actually strengthen working relationships. This workshop is ideal for anyone wanting to learn practical strategies and constructive attitudes for dissolving conflict in interactions and to prevent workplace conflict from erupting in the future. Participants will examine the causes and impact of workplace conflict. We will determine when it's best to confront conflict and when we should avoid it. We will also explore the art of Careful Confrontation®, determine conditions required for "healthy conflict," and identify five different ways to respond to workplace conflict.
Establishing Professional Boundaries
Establishing and maintaining healthy workplace boundaries is not about putting up a wall around ourselves. Rather, it's about achieving balance between our needs and those of someone else so we can do our best work. When our needs for respect, time, or space are violated we may feel disrupted, annoyed, threatened, or down right angry. Setting professional workplace boundaries is an investment that prevents many daily stressors allowing us to perform in an effective and efficient manner. In this workshop, we will explore what professional boundaries are, as well as examine the benefits of establishing and maintaining them. Participants will be introduced to a four-step process outlining how to set and maintain respectful workplace boundaries. As we go through the process, we'll determine the specific words that we can use to communicate our boundaries in an assertive, sensitive, and caring manner.

"You can be right, or you can be happy. Choose."
Click Here For Course Testimonials Jennifer Hough Master Lifestyle Coach & Best Selling Author In my practice and courses, I notice that most people wait for circumstances to change so that they can be happy. Many of us live under the illusion that we “need to” behave a certain way, accomplish things, or do certain tasks in order to be content. That somehow we will feel complete having done the tasks we feel we “should” do. But we really don’t feel complete – in fact over time, we may end up feeling drained, tired and even resentful. My favourite saying is “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result”. If the way you are being in life is not working for you now, trying harder at the same methods is simply going to get your more of the same. It is an illusion that you can make anyone else happy on a meaningful level, because lasting contentment is self-created. Two things happen when you set up relationships where others depend on you for happiness: one is that you sabotage their ability to create happiness powerfully for themselves, and two is you start justifying your very existence based on how others feel. Very dis-empowering stuff for both parties involved. Some may think “this sounds very selfish”, but I would ask you to consider this, you cannot give away what you do not have. If your commitment is to make a difference in the world (as mine is), then you need to find peace for yourself first so you can give the gift of you. In the Get Out of Your Own Way Course™, I teach others how to end the self sabotage, deliberately create joy, and allow for the well-being in successful relationships and contributions that deserve to be in their life. Within the realm of what you know, you will continue to get what you’ve got. Is it time for you to transform what’s not working and to un-stick the areas that you have resigned to – and stop trying to do it all by yourself?

Letting Go and Moving Forward
You've been treated unfairly. You've been overlooked. You've been betrayed. You are filled with hurt, anger, frustration, and resentment. You are furious and bitter toward the people who did this to you. More than that, you are angry with yourself for allowing it to happen to you. You berate yourself and vow never to be vulnerable, never to trust, and never to allow anyone to do that to you again. So you build a de-fence of tough skin and distance to protect yourself. But are you really protecting yourself? At some point in our life, each of us have experienced the pain and hurt caused by another person, event, or circumstance. In this workshop, participants will discover the freedom and power of letting go of the past. We will examine what "letting go of hurt" means and who is the real beneficiary when we do. A three-step process along with methods to help us move beyond unresolved hurt and guilt will be presented.
Managing Emotions Under Pressure
Our emotions can lift us up or bring us down. They can affect our relationships, energy level, productivity, and how we experience our life overall. Unceasing, increasing pressures, common in today's workplace, can lead to a host of unsettling, unproductive emotions. During this workshop, participants will be introduced to a cast of characters and how they manager their emotions. They will identify the traits they can embrace to better help them cope with every day stressors. Strategies and techniques will be presented to help us gain control and manage our emotions, leading us to be calmer, more focused, and ultimately, much happier individuals.
Motivation at Work
Well-intentioned organizations often attempt to boost employee motivation, and hence productivity, solely with monetary enticement. While appropriate compensation at work is important, by itself it is not a lasting employee motivator. What consistently motivates employees most, is a work environment where people feel valued, respected, and appreciated. The best news is that creating and maintaining this type of motivating workplace doesn't need to cost a cent!
Participants will examine reasons why they may become disillusioned, pessimistic, and unproductive. They will determine how to restore optimism, energy, and loyalty using appropriate motivators. We will focus on how to administer CPR at work-that is, how to Celebrate success, Praise sincerely, and Recognise effort-which can create a sense of renewal and elevate workplace morale. Traditional methods of reward will also be evaluated to determine whether they actually produce the results desired. Participants will discover practical self-motivating techniques as well as simple and effective methods to motivate others.
Positive Risk-taking for Powerful Results ©
Risk-taking is now an identified corporate value for proactive companies. Develop a positive attitude toward risk-taking and learn how to use the "Risk Cycle" to make wise choices. Participants will see the relationship of creativity, intuition and risk to innovation and learn how to get personal and corporate support for new ideas. Author of Risk It!, Reva has been leading companies toward new initiatives for years.
Positive Thinking at Work
There is no doubt that the stress, setbacks, and hassles we face at work are challenging; yet the way we think about those situations will greatly impact the outcome. The reality is, the way we think, whether positive or negative, shapes our daily experiences. Positive, optimistic thinking can make us more resilient, creative, and better equipped to overcome setbacks. People that think positively are also more likely to experience job satisfaction, see the opportunities that lie in a situation, embrace challenges, and take lessons from difficult experiences that will serve them well in the future. In this workshop we will explore the proven notion that "thinking makes it so." We'll examine advantages to thinking positively, and look at common barriers to actually doing it. Participants will also have an opportunity to consider their own negative mental habits that may be holding them back from reaching their full potential. Simple, yet effective ways to build positive attitudes, transform negativity into peak performance, and reduce stress will be presented.
Project Management for Professionals
As organizations, their products and services become more complex, there is a greater need for the discipline of Project Management. Based on the PMI® (Project Management Institute's) standards and guidelines, this workshop is an excellent introduction to the art and science of Project Management. Participants will develop an understanding of projects and project management, with a full range of tools, techniques, and processes to assist in managing projects. In the 2 or 3-day workshop format, participants will be given an opportunity to build their skills and knowledge in applying the techniques using a neutral case study. Discussions regarding project management issues, ideas, concerns, and successes are encouraged. Checklists are created during the workshop and templates are provided to assist in skill transfer to the workplace.

Stress Resiliency
Stress in our lives is in epidemic proportion today, surpassing the common cold as the main reason for short-term absences at work. The impact of stress, as well as the cost of stress to business and our health-care system, is overwhelming. Michael Wilson, former Minister of Finance and Senior Chairman of the Global Business and Economic Roundtable on Addiction and Mental Health, conservatively estimates that stress and mental health problems cost Canada $16 billion annually!
Employees who have been trained to identify and manage their stress are more focused, creative, and productive at work. This workshop examines the impact stress has on our performance, health, behaviour and attitude. Participants will identify what causes them stress at work and discover how to alter, eliminate or cope with it. Participants will walk away with a Personal Action Plan to develop and strengthen their stress resiliency.
